The Caprock is upholstered across its cushions, back, and arm tops in full-grain leather with a distressed honey-amber finish — warm golden-caramel that opens up toward burnished gold under direct light and settles into rich sienna in the creases. The grain is fully alive: natural crackling, whisker scars, pull marks, and tonal variation that no two hides will ever repeat. This is leather that was never sanded, never corrected, never made uniform. It is exactly what it is.

The arms are where the Caprock becomes something else entirely. Real brindle cowhide — hair-on, dark-streaked, natural pattern — covers the full arm side panels and the entire base skirt. Every arm face is framed top to bottom in hand-tooled Western leather: deep floral acanthus scroll carved into full-grain hide, antiqued to amber and dark brown with faint teal reading in the carved recesses. That same tooled band runs horizontally across the full width of the base rail. The result is a frame-within-a-frame — tooled leather forming a complete architectural border around every cowhide panel on the piece. Double-row antique bronze dome nailheads are hand-set along every tooled edge, vertical and horizontal, without exception.

The frame is kiln-dried hardwood, corner-blocked and built to hold without creaking, shifting, or softening under years of use. Seat and back cushions carry a 2.8-density foam core with a high-resilience gel topper. Dark espresso bun feet. Every joint, every panel, every row of nailheads placed in Texas by the same family that answers the phone when you call.
